Christine Elizabeth "Chris" Guers, 69, of Clayton, DE, passed away on Tuesday February 17th, 2026, at Wilmington Hospital.

She was born December 20th, 1956, in Pottsville, PA to the late Harold and Jeannette Guers.

Chris was a graduate of Thomas McKean HS in Wilmington and had formerly lived in PA, DE, VA, and KY.

Chris enjoyed watching sports. She loved her Phillies, especially her man JT. She enjoyed her afternoon General Hospital. She also enjoyed working & playing on computers. She taught computer classes at Easter seals. She loved gardening & had a green thumb. Chris also loved animals not only her own but the friendly visitors outside. Chris was a member of the Diamond State VFW. She enjoyed working with the VETS at the VA hospital and loved cooking at the VFW. She also assisted with the box car derby. Chris was also well known for her 'Guersy " burgers. Chris was a caretaker for many friends & family members. After her sister passed, she raised her niece Jennifer & became " MOMMOM " to her two children. Chris had a great sense of humor. She was so helpful to others and was always willing to help if she was able. Chris was a fighter, positive until the end. Her favorite saying was "Love you more not sike, tata always, never goodbye".

She is survived by a niece, Jennifer Creswell (Truitt) and her husband, Albert Creswell; grandchildren, Damien & Gemma Creswell; and her best friend, Patricia Orsetti.

She was predeceased by her sister Cheryl A. Truitt (Guers); and her beloved pets Rambo, Patches and Sammy.

A memorial service will be held 2:30 PM Saturday March 7 at Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, 123 W. Commerce St., Smyrna, with a visitation at 1:30 PM. Interment will be private.
