Catherine Stewart, 69, a lifelong resident of Smyrna, passed away on Wednesday February 15, 2023.

She was born in Dover, DE on March 5, 1953, to the late Jane and Bob Jacobs. She was a 1971 graduate of Smyrna High School and also of Delaware State University. She taught English in the Smyrna School District for over 35 years.

Cathy enjoyed the beach and sun and loved sitting by the pool with friends. She also was a pet-lover who always had dogs and cats in her home.

She is survived by a sister, D.J. Kelly (Richard); niece Holly Soroko (Steve); nephew Joseph Kelly (Candy); great nephews Jacob (Madison) and Nick Soroko; and great-nieces Norah and Amelia Kelly.

Services will be private.
