Carroll William McBride, of Clayton, DE, passed away at his home on Wednesday July 24, 2024. He was 84.

He was born January 20, 1940, in Belgrade, Nebraska, the son of the late Arthur and Thelma Rathbun McBride. He attended Belgrade Elementary School and graduated from Belgrade High School.

He worked in sales for BCP in Smyrna for 18 years where he received many awards for excellence and then I.G. Burton for a year. Prior to that he was a meat cutter and had his own meat store.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Kathy.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Ann McBride, his children, Bill Mcbride of Boston, Melody Prescott of Tucson, Phil McBride of Tucson, Mike Mathers of Phoenix, Rob Mathers of Phoenix; 17 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and his brothers and sisters, Howard McBride of Omaha, Dale McBride of Sycamore, Illinois, Irene Klein of Hinckley, Nebraska, and Ruth Mendyk of Phillips, Nebraska.

Services will be held 12:00 PM Thursday August 1 at Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, 123 W. Commerce St., Smyrna, DE, with a visitation from 11:00 AM until the time of services. Interment will be private.
