Obituary

Calvin H. Boyd, of Smyrna, passed away on Wednesday April 29, 2015 at Bayhealth Medical Center, Dover. He was 88. He was born in Townsend, and lived in the Smyrna area all his life. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Boyd was employed for many years as a truck driver with Anchor Motor Freight, Wilmington, retiring in 1982. After his retirement, he was self-employed as a farmer. He greatly enjoyed horseback riding, especially his favorite horses, Jan and Easy Buck. He also enjoyed gardening, and raising rabbits, chickens, and goats. He was preceded in death by a son, Calvin E. Boyd, and his mother, Mabel R. Clark. He is survived by a daughter, June Barthelmeh (husband Tom); a brother, John Clark (wife Eileen); three nephews, John Clark Jr.; David Clark; and Glenn Clark; a daughter-in-law, Cindi Allen; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a special friend and caregiver, Madeline Tatman. Graveside services will be held 12:00 PM Saturday May 9 at Townsend Cemetery, Townsend, DE.
