Byron "Skip" Schwartz Jr., age 66 of Clayton and formerly Newark, DE, passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, January 31st, 2018.  Born in Baltimore, MD, October 28th, 1951 to Byron Schwartz Sr. and Elizabeth "Betty" (Saywell) Schwartz.  He was a graduate of Newark High School.

Skip was an avid Baltimore Orioles and Baltimore Ravens fan.  He loved talking sports and politics with his friends and family.  He was a skilled carpenter who was meticulous with his work.  He worked for Stonewood Builders for almost 40 years and has left his mark from southern Pennsylvania to central Delaware.

Skip is survived by his son Jon Schwartz of Southampton, NJ, and daughter Carrie Van Name with her husband Matthew Van Name of Clayton, DE.  He is also survived by his sister, Janet Schwartz of Newark and her 3 sons, his nephews, David, Rob, and Brian.  Skip enjoyed snuggling with his loyal cat Brody.  In addition he adored and loved to spoil his 2 granddaughters, Clara and Lillian.  He showered them with tickles, unique gifts, and affection.   He loved them a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck.

Skip was a very modest man and requested no funeral services be held.  A celebration of life is forthcoming.
