Bruce William Potter, of Smyrna, passed away on Sunday February 19, 2023. He was 79.

He was born March 5, 1943 to the late Medford and Prunella Potter.

Bruce graduated from John Bassett Moore High School, Smyrna, in 1961. He was a self-employed 6 ^th generation contractor for many years.

He loved hunting, fishing, and had been a teacher of Tae Kwon Do at what is now JBM Middle School in Smyrna. He also loved crosswords, coffee and cheeseburgers. Most of all, he enjoyed time spent with family.

He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, Smyrna; past president of the Smyrna-Clayton Rotary Club; a member of the Masons (Harmony Lodge #13); a former cub scout leader and little league manager; a member of the American Legion; and a life member of Citizens Hose Co., Smyrna.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Duane Potter, and a grandson, Brian Potter Jr.

He is survived by his companion for 40 years, Gloria Daniels; children, Randy (Doris), and Brian (Laura), JJ Anglin; two brothers, Ronald Potter (Juanita) and Dennis Potter (Sandy); 13 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held 12 PM Saturday February 25 at Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, 123 W. Commerce St., Smyrna, where friends may call at 11 AM. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Smyrna.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Weston Senior Living Center at Highfield Masonic Home of Delaware, 4800 Lancaster Pike, Wilmington, DE 19807.
