Brenda Rene Gewain, 58, of Smyrna, DE, and formerly of Pasadena, MD, passed away at her home on Thursday, July 14, 2022.

She was born in Baltimore City on November 7, 1963. She graduated from Southern High School in Baltimore, MD, and was employed by Harte Hanks for 36 years.

Her hobbies included cooking, Ravens football, sight-seeing, shopping, family, and feeding neighborhood wildlife. She also was an avid reader and greatly enjoyed people watching and bantering with her husband and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph F. Collins and Geraldine E. Haines-Collins; a niece, Mary Harris; and her pets Niko and Envy.

She is survived by her husband, Scott W. Gewain; her step-mother, Mary L. Collins; siblings Geraldine Harris and Joann Borkoski; 2 step-sisters and 1 step-brother; a niece, Anne Barr; two nephews Donald Borkoski Jr and Christopher Borkoski; 1 step-niece, 4 step-nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

A memorial service and luncheon will be held at 1 PM Sunday, August 7, at Messiah United Methodist Church, 7401 East Furnace Branch Rd., Glen Burnie, MD 21060.

Interment will be private for family at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Baltimore, MD.
