Birl L. Blevins, of Clayton, DE, passed away at the age of 89 on August 16, 2017 at his home with his loving wife of 64 years, Norma D. (Meadows) Blevins by his side.

He was preceded in death by his parents Solomon A. Blevins and Vilena E. Blevins; sisters Lessie Blevins and Pearl Mullens; Brothers Earl Blevins, Jesse Blevins, and Edward Blevins.

Birl is survived in life by his wife Norma; daughter Cheryl; sons Keith and Mark; six grand- children, Reese, Niki, Matthew, Casey, Crystal, and Kaela; and five great-grandchildren all of whom He loved very much.

Birl graduated from Stoco High School in Lego, West Virginia and served his country in the U.S. Army 2nd Infantry Division during the Korean War. He worked as a coal miner in West Virginia then was a Millwright for Forbes Steel and Wire in Wilmington, DE from where he retired. Birl is loved and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
