Betty Jane (Griffin) Harrington, of Smyrna, passed away on Wednesday November 2, 2016. She was 87.

She was born in Smyrna, DE on March 28, 1929, the daughter of the late John S. Griffin and the late Emma May Pratt Griffin.

She was employed by Latex, Dover, as a secretary for 19 years.

Betty loved to sing and was in the church choir in Smyrna for many years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jack S. Griffin, and a sister, Elva Tarburton, of Dover, DE.

She is survived by her husband, Robert L. Harrington; her son, Jeffrey L. Harrington and his wife Susan, of Dover; a niece, Connie (Dickie) Holland; and a nephew, Fred (Gina) Tarburton.

Services will be held 12:00 PM Monday November 7 at Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, 123 W. Commerce St., Smyrna, where friends may call at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Smyrna.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Townsend Free Will Baptist Church, 4519 Dupont Pkwy, Townsend, DE 19734.
