Betty Jane (Regener) Blendt
September 22, 1930 – July 17, 2026
Betty Jane (Regener) Blendt, born on September 22, 1930, near Odessa, Delaware, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, family, and devotion. She was the cherished daughter of the late Harry and Edna Regener.
Betty graduated from John Bassett Moore High School in 1948 and remained deeply rooted in her community throughout her life. She was a faithful member of First Presbyterian Church of Smyrna, a lifetime member of the Smyrna Grange, and a past member of the Friendly Neighbors Homemaker Club.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years, Carlton Blendt Jr., as well as her brother, Abert S. Regener, her sister, Elma R. Walton, and her daughter, Bonnie Proud.
Betty is lovingly remembered by three of her children: Diane Steward, David Blendt, and Susan Moore. Her legacy continues through her 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, all of whom brought her immense pride and joy.
Betty found happiness in life’s simple pleasures – tending her garden, sewing with care, and creating a warm and welcoming home. After retiring from farming, she and Carlton embraced adventure, traveling together in their RV across the United States and into Canada. They especially cherished spending their winters in Florida, making lasting memories along the way.
Above all, Betty will be remembered as a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a treasured “Mom-mom”. Her kindness, strength, and unwavering love for her family will never be forgotten.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff of Accent Care Hospice for their kindness and care.
Services will be held 11 AM Friday July 24 at the First Presbyterian Church, 118 W. Commerce St., Smyrna, where the family will receive friends beginning at 10 AM. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Smyrna. A luncheon will be served following the cemetery at the First Presbyterian church - all are invited to attend.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Smyrna, 118 W. Commerce St., Smyrna, DE 19977.
