Obituary

Bernard Dangerfield, of Clayton, DE, passed away at his home on Tuesday April 4, 2017. He was 90.

He was born in Long Branch, WV on December 12, 1926, the son of the late Henry and Lucy (Marshall) Dangerfield.

He served in US Navy and retired from Chrysler Corp. after 30 years of service.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Edna Frances Dangerfield (m. 6/30/49); three children, Dianna Wright, of Clayton; Bernard Jarrell Dangerfield and his wife Doris, of Marydel, DE; and Jill Dangerfield and partner Bonnie, of Clayton, DE; grandchildren, Rhonda Rife (Greg); Roger Neal Wright (Melissa); Christine Bailey (Frank); Bernie Heverin (Stacey); Kathy Durand (Mel); Mark Heverin, Jr. (Mandy); Summer Heverin; and Daniel Heverin (Jessica); 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a brother, Kenneth Dangerfield, of Scarbro, WV; a sister, Loretta Jean Hyden, of Murfreesboro, TN; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Services will be held 12:00 PM Monday April 10 at Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, 123 W. Commerce St., Smyrna, where friends may call at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover. Pastor Troy Dennis will officiate.

Arrangements are by Matthews–Bryson Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Smyrna.
