Barbara Lee Crook (nee Holmes) of Townsend, passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 under Delaware Hospice care in Smyrna. She was 72.

She was born in Queens, NY on October 3, 1944, the daughter of the late Frank and Hedwig Holmes. She lived most of her life in the Catonsville/Ellicott City/Linthicum areas. She and her husband, Newt, then moved to Smyrna, DE to be closer to her family.

She worked as a pre-school teacher, administrative secretary and a lab technician. She enjoyed helping others any way she could and had a generous heart. Her loves were gardening, birds, marching bands, parades and various collectables. Her true passion was her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, John Newt Crook, daughter and son-in-law, Stacy and Scott Watts; three grandchildren, Danielle (Rob Grimm) Knight, Derek Knight and Timmy Watts.

She requested not to have any services. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
