Barbara Wallace
Bilbrough
November 7, 1935 – October 21, 2023
Barbara Wallace Bilbrough passed away peacefully on October 21. She born November 7, 1935 to Samuel Wallace and Bertha Sparks Wallace. In 1953 she fell in love with Buddy Bilbrough and they soon married. They had three children, Corky Bilbrough, Maude (Donovan) and Wendy (Parker) and remained happily together until his passing in 1985.
For years, Barbara worked at the Clayton Bank in book-keeping and as the drive-thru teller. Barbara is also remembered for her time with the bus service. After retirement from banking, she kept busy part-time at Leggett in the Dover Mall. Even after moving to Milford, she loved working at Willey Farms and would find joy watching the seasons change during her drive, especially the daffodils blooming.
Barbara was an avid reader who enjoyed reading so much, friends would deliver books by the bag full. She loved to shop and brag about her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and even great-great-grandchildren.
When she lived in Smyrna, Barbara was very active in the community, and took the most pride in founding the Smyrna-Clayton Little Lass program. She was a Girl Scout leader, Sunday School Teacher at Ewell's St. Paul United Methodist Church, member of the Lillian Smith Senior Center and Life Member of the Clayton Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. For years she also loved working with the Cinder City Belles majorettes.
Barbara is survived by her children, Corky Bilbrough (Laura), Maude Donovan, Wendy Parker (Rusty), and Linda White, her grandchildren Mandi Gaglione (Mark), Craig Bilbrough (Meagan), Sidney Moor (Hallie), Tiffany Brown, Joshua Bilbrough and Sarah Bilbrough, her great-grandchildren Jeremy Gaglione, Shane Gaglione, Jonathan Gaglione, Ariel Powers, Abigail Bilbrough, Austin Brown, Eliza Moor, Everett Moor and Jake Bilbrough as well as 4 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Buddy, and sons-in-law Donnie "String" Donovan and Wally White.
