ALMARIE C. (WOLF) LAIRD, 81, of Townsend, DE passed away peacefully, attended by her daughter on Friday, Feb. 24, 2023.

Almarie was born December 24, 1941, on Staten Island, NY to Albert and Elizabeth "Betty" Wolf. She attended Curtis HS where she met James William Laird, " My HS Sweetheart"; married on Sept. 11,1960 and gave birth to a daughter, Linda Sue Laird on February 11, 1962.  She was a loving wife, mother, aunt and still in contact with many longtime friends.

Almarie loved animals, but dogs held her heart. She was a long-time member of the Union County Kennel Club and breeder of champion Dachshunds. She was a talented Artist, starting a small glass designing business; making trophies for dogs shows; which grew quickly into a full-time job; expanding to cat and horse shows and then to unique gifts for all occasions.  This "job" provided her the opportunity to travel and explore the US with her family.

In the 1980s, mom and dad moved to Townsend, Delaware "their own little slice of heaven", continuing their happy lives. They were ballroom dancers for years. She obtained her qualifications as emergency pilot, so when they traveled on their own, she could handle the plane if something happened to (dad) the pilot. Mom continued traveling, cruising the Panama Canal Jan.2022.  Mom loved playing Mahjongg with her newest friends.

Survived by Linda Sue Laird (daughter), 4 nieces and 5 nephews; multiple great nieces and nephews.

Joining in death her beloved husband, parents and sister, other relatives, friends and pets.

Interment was privately held at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
