Ada O. Fortner, age 101+, of Smyrna, Delaware, formerly of Bristol, Tennessee The gates of heaven opened wide on Thursday, June 11, 2015 to receive Ada Fortner. She was 101 years and 8 months old and often thought that God must of forgotten her. But we know God was preparing something special for her to be with all her loved ones who went before her. Ada was born in Wise County, Va. on October 26, 1913 to Thomas and Luraney Kilgore. As a young girl she moved to Bristol, Tenn. where she would meet the love of her life George W. Fortner. They were married for 55 years and had three children, Jeane Fehl (Charles), of Smyrna, DE, Larry Fortner (Joanne) of Newark, DE and Dr. G. Ronald Fortner (Lisa) of Port St. Lucie, Fl. George went onto his eternal rest in 1995. She will be interred next to him in the Mountain View Cemetery, Bristol, Va. In addition she is survived by seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and three great -great-grandchildren. She was a life-long member of the Baptist Faith. She will be remembered at a memorial service at the South Side Baptist Church in Camden, DE at a time to be announced at a later date.
